On October 5th 2017 Dolors Reig gave a talk called 2.0 Education: How to motivate the connected generation. In her presentation, Dolors highlighted the following points as being key to reach today’s connected students:

-Take advantage of the possibilities and opportunities offered by new technologies to train the “Youtube Generation”.

-Utilise new pedagogical and technological methodologies appropriate for the new socio-informative ecosystem.

-Understand the value of technology as a learning and empowerment tool.

She concluded her talk offering a few parting ideas:

-A good use of technology in the classroom makes for happier citizens.

-Internet dilutes the differences among generations such as X, Y, Z and Millennials.

-Now young people are more autonomous and autodidactic, with advanced search skills.

Collaboration as a worktool, Gamification and Storytelling are fundamental in motivation as video is seen as its own language.

Nowadays to educate is to teach how to filter information in an environment in which content and information is calling to us from every corner.
