From July 2 to 5, 2018, the CRISS Summer School took place in Villa Montesca, where several workshops were held to divulge the functionalities of the CRISS project tools, the Core platform and the ICT planning tool around the MyDocumenta eportfolio, before the launch of the pilot in September.
Teachers from several countries including from schools of regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete, attended this event where they learnt from the experience of the partners already part of the project, like the Fondazione Hallgarten-Franchetti Centro Studi Villa Montesca, EXUS Software LTD, Fundació per a la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, MyDocumenta, Education4sight GmbH, Diginext SARL y Sandetel, who were in charge of the talks and workshops that took place during the week.
The assistants attended workshops where they have been able to try the first version of these tools to create class activities that will be perfected in the coming months.
Topics discussed at the CRISS 2018 Summer School
On July 2, the participants and the summer school program were presented: the history of CRISS was discussed, and its basic operational concepts; we also talked about the certification of digital competences for teachers and students, and we made a brief introduction to the platform and its tools. In the afternoon, workshops were held on how teachers and students should use the platform.
On July 3 we held an evaluation and follow-up workshop, and a workshop on the platform with a demo of the eportfolio; we also showed CRISS tools and libraries, and presented MAGELLAN ICT TOOL, along with a practical workshop on the tool.
On July 4th, the Digital Competency Certification scheme for Criss was shown with the creation of a set of CAS (competency evaluation scenarios); the participants learned how to create or adapt a CAS, and there was a role play workshop. Later, there was a dinner in which many topics of interest were discussed in a more relaxed environment.
On July 5, we discussed the general structure and methodology of the pilot, privacy, data protection and ethical problems as well as materials and support resources for teachers, online tutors and others involved. In the afternoon we talked about the evaluation of the success of CRISS, assessment and data collection, as well as the support community for all those involved in educational activities and relevant stakeholders.
