Recently the CRISS project has taken an important step forward towards its development throughout Europe. In an opening series of workshops conducted in a wide variety of countries by CRISS partners. In these workshops, fundamental aspects of the project, such as aims and phases, were explained and reviewed.
In the report written by Fabrizio Boldrini, Maria Rita Bracchini from the Fondazione Hallgarten Franchetti Centro Studi Villa Montesca (Italy) we learned the following areas of the project were covered in each session:
- CRISS Digital Competence Framework;
- General structure of the CRISS platform;
- Creation of Competence Assessment Scenarios (CAS);
- CRISS pilot.
In the workshops held in Greece, Sweden, Croatia, Spain (Gobierno de Navarra), Spain (Escola Pia Catalunya), Italy, Romania, CRISS partners received invaluable feedback from teachers, administrators, educational technology experts and counselors regarding the conceptual framework of the CRISS project, its piloting, the digital competences scheme and the scenarios methodological approach.
Some of this useful feedback included ideas that ranged from comments regarding the specificity of the Performance Criteria which was roundly applauded as a useful tool for planning and evaluating to how the CRISS certification process relates to each national educational system’s digital agendas. The main assessments and suggestions from the participants centred on:
- ways of presenting information in general, overview of the benefits and contributions the CRISS project can give to their schools, the educational methods and techniques were considered the most valuable aspects.
In terms of areas for improvement there was excellent feedback related to how useful it would be to have more examples of the given scenarios, and how owning the certificate for digital competence could help students in their future lives and education in general.
Given the dynamic and informed feedback received in these workshops all across Europe, it is clear that the aims of CRISS have stimulated the interest of educators throughout the continent, and their on-the-ground feedback demonstrates their dedication to improving digital competences in their schools in an innovative way, and how that practical information can enrich the evolution of the CRISS project.
